La Caisse and the FNZ employee shareholder class action
What does a class action lawsuit in the High Court of New Zealand have to do with a Canadian pension fund and the Cayman Islands?
Employee shareholders are sounding the alarm over what they describe as an aggressive and calculated campaign by defendants to block their case from being heard.
Leading the charge is La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, which is one of Canada’s largest institutions, managing the pension plans of around 6 million people in Quebec, and a major investor in FNZ.
While FNZ continues to state the case has no merit, the defendants seem to be going to great lengths to stop the plaintiff’s claims of their egregious conduct coming to light in the High Court of New Zealand.
